What is the difference between Sales Cloud and Service Cloud?


Sales Cloud is geared towards managing your leads, marketing campaigns, clients, contacts and sales opportunities. It also allows you to do basic case/issue management (log issues, associate them to a client, categorize them) but that is the extent of the service capabilities. Service Cloud is geared towards departments that need more extensive service capabilities (Case Escalation rules, SLA Management, Knowledge Articles, Social Media Integration, etc.). Both clouds run on the same Salesforce platform and an organization can have a mix of both sales and service cloud users.
