What is a Salesforce Administrator and what should they do?


There are two types of Salesforce Administrators. They are:
  • Admins that have a percentage of their job allocated to being the administrator. These Admins are engaged in solving business problems, keeping up with the Salesforce releases, finding areas to improve the application, etc. The key word here is proactive.

  • Admins that are given the title but do not have any time to devote to it. These Admins are not focused on enhancing the application and don’t want to do any administration, simply because their other job duties require their full commitment. In this case, it is best to partner with a company to provide ongoing support for your users.
For larger deployments (100+ users), we often see an Administrator with at least 50% of their time allocated to the Salesforce Administration job.
